  • Family Health Assesment part 1

    Family Health Assesment part 1.

Understanding family structure and style is essential to patient and family care. Conducting a family interview and needs assessment gathers information to identify strengths, as well as potential barriers to health. This information ultimately helps develop family-centered strategies for support and guidance.

This family health assessment is a two-part assignment. The information you gather in this initial assignment will be utilized for the second assignment in Topic 3.

Develop an interview questionnaire to be used in a family-focused functional assessment. The questionnaire must include three open-ended, family-focused questions to assess functional health patterns for each of the following:

    1. Values/Health Perception
    2. Nutrition
    3. Sleep/Rest
    4. Elimination
    5. Activity/Exercise
    6. Cognitive
    7. Sensory-Perception
    8. Self-Perception
    9. Role Relationship
    10. Sexuality
    11. Coping

Select a family, other than your own, and seek permission from the family to conduct an interview. Utilize the interview questions complied in your interview questionnaire to conduct a family-focused functional assessment. Document the responses as you conduct the interview.

Upon completion of the interview, write a 750-1,000-word paper. Analyze your assessment findings. Submit your questionnaire as an appendix with your assignment.

Include the following in your paper:

    1. Describe the family structure. Include individuals and any relevant attributes defining the family composition, race/ethnicity, social class, spirituality, and environment.
    2. Summarize the overall health behaviors of the family. Describe the current health of the family.
    3. Based on your findings, describe at least two of the functional health pattern strengths noted in the findings. Discuss three areas in which health problems or barriers to health were identified.
    4. Describe how family systems theory can be applied to solicit changes in family members that, in turn, initiate positive changes to the overall family functions over time.

Cite at least three peer-reviewed or scholarly sources to complete this assignment. Sources should be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. A link to the LopesWrite technical support articles is located in Course Materials if you need assistance.

7 tips to help you balance nursing grad school and work full time

Education is power, and many working people have realized how adding knowledge and career advancements are helpful. Dealing with family, social life, and work is challenging, and it becomes worse when you add classwork to the list. Unless you get a balance of your “new life,” you will never overcome burnout. We are here to help you with the best tips on conducting a healthy balance of your full-time work and being a grad nursing student. Below are 7 tips to help you balance nursing grad school and work full time

balance nursing grad school and work full time
Juggling with full-time work and grad nursing programs is challenging. But everything falls in place when you are cautious in making the right choices in your time use. When you put these tips into practice, you will be amazed at how your life will flow without conflicts.
    • Have time management Discipline

We may wonder about the practicality of having a full-time job and graduate nursing courses with the time factor being constant. Unless you manage your time wisely, 24 hours never be enough. Put procrastination habits out of your face since it will lead you to severe burnout. Multitasking is good but can affect your productivity if you are careless. Take time to learn yourself; when do you function best? Schedule your work and studies in a way you are comfortable, and always remember to prioritize.

    • Let the end result be a motivation.

First, you need to re-evaluate your goals and think about why you chose to take the graduate nursing course. Are you after getting a promotion, salary increments, or knowledge advancement? Who gets affected by your decision if you give up? Therefore, reflecting on this core purpose triggers your morale.

    • Take a nursing program you love

It’s emotionally and physically draining when working on tasks you have no connection to. Once you chose to graduate nursing course, a better balance between academics and work-life would be achievable when you settle for a program you love. Research the program’s objectives and goals and see if they match your expectations. Also, choose a course whose class scheduling is compatible with your current work calendar to reduce time friction.

    • Communicate effectively

Once you enroll in nursing grad programs, your way of operation is feeling the heat. Communication is essential with those around you. Notify your colleagues about the new schedule as well as the family members. Through communication, they will learn to understand you, render some help when possible, and respect your space.

    • Ask for assistance

You require a smooth transition between your responsibilities, and this would be hard till you ask for help. Remember, you need to communicate with your support system. When you can’t handle all those domestic duties, ask your family member to give a hand. Talk to your fellow graduate students or those who have had previous experience. They can help you with assignments, give moral support, and even leak some of the tricks that have worked for them.

    • Have a plan

Until you set boundaries between your course works and office duties, everything will be frustrating. The best way to manage time is to prepare a realistic working plan. For example, every week, take note of the projects you need to complete and prioritize based on the submission dates. Make your office calendar such that each day you know what you need to tackle.

    • Plan for free time

No matter how passionate you are to complete your graduate course and be productive at work, it would help if you had off-days. Take a vacation, for example, during the summer period. The body needs enough rest from the monotonous schedule to recover, and you would develop burnouts.

    Conclusion

Juggling with full-time work and grad nursing programs is challenging. But everything falls in place when you are cautious in making the right choices in your time use. When you balance nursing grad school and work full time, you will be amazed at how your life will flow without conflicts.

To develop some good PICOT questions researchers must recognize a need or a reason for the study. The search for high-quality clinical research evidence can be overwhelming to many. However, by utilizing the PICOT or PICO format researchers can streamline their research process. As result, one will be able to produce the best existing evidence to support clinical decisions and explore alternative treatments and procedures.

PICOT questions aim to focus on experiences and different points of view and to enrich the students’ understanding through the analysis of words. PICO questions require a considerable time of effort and time that students mostly don’t have due to stringent deadlines, emergencies, and other life commitments.

When writing your nursing paper, you must start off by briefly introducing the problem or situation that you are seeking a solution.

Explicitly and clearly highlight these problems, then provide sufficient background information. For your information to flow easily and for the readers to better understand your case study, it should follow a specific structure as highlighted below:

    • Title page: This contains your information and your nursing paper title
    • Abstract: The abstract can be narrative or structured in style. A narrative means a short, condensed version of your entire study – it flows smoothly with no subheadings. A structured abstract contains the different subheadings contained in the entire nursing paper.
    • Introduction: It details why your paper’s topic is fascinating.
    • Case presentation: This part presents the patient’s complaint, his/her medical history, and a description of the examination’s results.
    • Management and outcome: Detail the patient’s current care plan. Specify the length and frequency of this nursing plan.
    • Discussion: From your presented case, various questions arise. This section address these pertinent questions.
    • Acknowledgments: This section offers you the opportunity to appreciate anyone who assisted you in writing this case study. Excluding the patient, make sure all the people you mention here offered direct assistance.
    • References: List all the materials and sources that you used in the writing of your case study. Ensure that you list all of them to avoid cases of plagiarism.
    • Legends: This section contains information on non-text materials such as tables, graphs, and charts

HOW DO YOU WRITE AN INTRODUCTION TO A NURSING PAPER?

Here’s how to write an introduction to a nursing paper

    • Present your topic – In simple terms, start by writing what your topic is about. We recommended that you start with the broad/general topic and narrow it down. It is also advisable to include a personal reference – if there is one. You should also include your insights, opinions, and personal views. If our topic has jargon that the reader may not be familiar with, make sure that you explain them briefly and clearly.
    • Provide background information or context – Of course, you have conducted plenty of research on your topic and are very familiar with it. You should provide appropriate and relevant information to your readers so they can understand what your topic is about. Focus on what the reader needs as far as the nursing paper goes. However, avoid giving too much information.
    • Define your reasoning – Your readers need to know how and why your nursing paper topic is relevant to them. Your topic should also be pertinent to your field and society. This is vital since it shows your nursing paper’s importance to the readers.
    • Highlight your thesis statement – The thesis statement usually comes at the end of the nursing paper’s introduction. It refers to the main point or central idea of your nursing paper. In other words, it highlights what your paper is about. A thesis statement is crucial since it sets the tone for the rest of the nursing paper. It should be clear, assertive, engaging, and easily understandable by all your readers.
    • Finalize the outline – An outline is a paragraph of three or four sentences that details your nursing paper’s plan. An outline helps you organize your thoughts, ensure that there is nothing you are forgetting, and helps your nursing paper’s information continuity.

    FAQs

    1. How do I choose a topic for my nursing paper?

There is no one answer to this question since it will vary depending on what class you are taking and what the assignment is. However, a good place to start is by brainstorming a list of potential topics that interest you. Once you have a list of potential ideas, you can then narrow down your choices by considering things like the required length of the paper and what resources are available to you.

    1. How do I find reliable sources for my nursing paper?

Again, this will vary depending on your topic, but a few general tips include using library resources, searching for peer-reviewed journal articles, and looking for credible websites. It is also important to consider who your audience is when determining what sources are appropriate.

    1. What should I do if I’m having trouble getting started on my nursing paper?

If you’re feeling stuck, one option is to try freewriting or brainstorming to generate some ideas. You can also try talking to your professor or a writing tutor for help getting started.

How To Write A Nursing Case Study

A nursing case study is an exhaustive examination and explanation of one or more patients suffering from a particular disease or condition. Nursing case studies are essential in offering practical information about a patient and a condition/disease. Students’ common mistakes are starting the writing process before they can complete the appropriate groundwork.

The vital preliminary steps include establishing your paper’s format and focus, followed by gathering the necessary and appropriate information. Since case study assignments require a lot of planning, research, and time, not all students can effectively write them. It becomes increasingly difficult to do your coursework with all the lectures to attend, reports and assignments to write, and family responsibilities to attend to.

Customnursingassignments.com offers quality, reliable, and professional nursing case study help to undergraduate, graduate, and master’s students.

Categories of a nursing case study

Nursing case studies fall into these categories:

    • The patient’s status: This discusses the patient’s particulars – who they are, the reason for inclusion in the study. This category includes the patient’s demographics (age, race, etc.), medical history, diagnosis, and treatment. If this is your case study’s focus, ensure that you detail the disease process and the aforementioned aspects.

    Types of nursing case studies

Before embarking on writing your case study, it is critical that you know the different types of case studies. There are four types of case studies. Knowing what these types are will help you write an improved and better case study.

    1. Illustrative case studies

These case studies require a descriptive approach. Nursing students describe one or more specific events about the study in a clinical setting. The purpose of illustrative nursing case studies is to illuminate unknown aspects of the case to the readers.

    1. Exploratory case studies

Also known as pilot case studies, these case studies aim at uncovering questions, and methodologies to tackle the problem presented in their case studies.

    1. Cumulative case studies

These involve collecting, combining, and summarizing data from different sources in different periods of time. The rationale is that past information is useful in generalizing facts without spending time, money, and other resources conducting further research.

    1. Critical case studies

This particular type is useful in answering cause and effect/consequences questions. The objective of critical case studies is to analyze an area of interest without generalizing.
